The Lost Country of Sight (for soprano, cello, piano, and percussion); on text by Neil Aitken

(Duration – 12 minutes)

Winner of the Boston International Contempo Festival Director’s Choice award, Five Colleges New Music Festival Competition, and the ASCAP Lotte Lehmann Foundation Art Song Competition.

The Lost Country of Sight is a setting of four poems by Neil Aitken about love, loss, and what we carry from those who leave us behind. They portray the cyclical nature of life and relationships, serving as something of a farewell, a look at the exile of body back to earth, spirit to the cosmos, a father to the grave.
